My Next Venture! (Or Ad-Venture...whichever)

I know I haven't been posting for a while, and I apologize, but life has been busy!  Here is a basic day in my life; wake up, go to work.  Work most of the day, get home for dinner, crash.  Crash defined; watch some of Edwardian Farm (a new obsession), or read.  I have not found much time for extra things.  However, I am planning to organize my time so that I will be able to blog more, write more, pray more...all the good stuff I've been shamefully slacking on.

But while I work, I have lots of time to think, and I have been trying to come up with a way to save my books from getting dog-eared as I carry them around everywhere.  And I have found a solution; a Kindle.  Now I am sure all of you fellow book-lovers will be slightly shocked as you know how much I love books in all their glory.  The feel, the sound, the smell, the very personality of a book is irreplaceable.  But I have decided to view the Kindle as friend, rather than foe.  I will use it to save my books.  So when I'm traveling, going to work, reading outside, I will use my Kindle.

Now that I've made the decision to get one, I'm actually really excited about it!  I've found one on Ebay that is less than buying it off Amazon, and I've also found a really nice cover that looks like a book.  Its title is 'The Bibliophilist's Library'.  I thought it highly appropriate.

Once I have it in my hands, I will take a picture of it and post it so you can all see and share my joy (hopefully).

Life has me bubbling up with happiness.  The sheer beauty of the world, everyday life, living with my dear family, and having such wonderful friends fills me with the ultimate form of contentment.  I could go on about my blessings, but I think I will leave it at that.

Right now I am in the middle of collecting books for my Kindle; I am separating all my Lucy Maud Montgomery's into one 'shelf' so that I can find them easily.  Then I think I'll do a 'Classics' one, and a 'Jane Austen' one, then a general 'Favourites' and then a 'Christian Romance' and I'll go on from there.  I'm so excited!

And I've found a notebook in which I can copy out all my favourite quotes!  So there's another thing I need to find time for.  Well, I have Saturday off...perhaps I can get some things done!

  1. Wonderful to hear you are so happy Emily! You speak of books like Elise does! I think I would enjoy your summers, Elise would also.
